Piet Leeflang receives Dutch 'Ridderorde' for years of involvement with the Dutch club in Perth

It was a complete surprise for Piet Leeflang (87) when he was called up to the stage at the Dutch club Neerlandia in Perth (WA). He was told that some volunteers would be put in the spotlight, but he did not expect to receive a knighthood from the Dutch Ambassador to Australia, Mrs. Marion Derckx. We called Piet to talk about this honourable event, his migration story and working and living at Perth Zoo.
