Bedreigde wallabies verhuizen van QLD naar NSW in missie om soort te redden

Ecologen van de Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) hebben een belangrijke missie achter de rug. Ze verhuisden twintig Bridled Nailtail Wallabies van Taunton NP (QLD) naar Scotia Wildlife Sanctuary (NSW). Dertig jaar lang, tot 1973, werd gedacht dat dit soort wallabies waren uitgestorven. De overplaatsing is onderdeel van een soortbeheerplan, zo vertelt AWC veldecoloog Jessica Holding.
