Skye Weave is a 100mx100m art installation created by a team of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander all-female artists from the Gold Coast led by Torres Strait Islander artist Lisa Sorbie Martin.

Skye Weave is one of the key attractions of Bleach Festival currently underway at the Gold Coast (12-22 November).

Talking to NITV Radio, Lisa Sorbie Martin explained that with this artwork the group of women weave a story of the skies through place and time and visitors can observe this magnificent piece on Burleigh Heads beachfront.

Bleach Festival organisers say that for 2020 the event is unashamedly local, celebrating the city’s best artists, showcasing renowned Queensland musicians and one-of-a-kind contemporary arts experiences.
