Dr Debbie Haski-Leventhal is a Professor in Management at Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM), the Faculty Leader of Corporate Citizenship and the Director of Master of Social Entrepreneurship. As a scholar on corporate social responsibility (CSR), Debbie initiated and leads the MGSM CSR Partnership Network, a network of leading Australian and international companies, nonprofits and governmental departments aimed at developing an evidence-based dialogue on CSR. The first two studies were launched in Parliament House and attracted much attention from the media.
Debbie is a passionate lecturer in her areas of research. She teaches organisational behaviour, strategic CSR and social entrepreneurship and is one of the most highly ranked teachers at MGSM. In 2014 she won the Macquarie University Vice Chancellor Excellence in Teaching Award.
She is a leader of responsible management education and works with the United Nation Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), conducting international studies on business students and their attitudes towards CSR and responsible management education. Debbie has published several reports and papers on the topic and this work was covered by the international media, including in the New York Times and Financial Review.
Debbie was a consultant for United Nations Volunteers and co-wrote the State of the World Volunteerism Report, launched at the General Assembly in December 2011. She has submitted a briefing paper on volunteering and social inclusion to the Prime Minister and Cabinet and took part in consulting and writing for the Federal and NSW strategies on volunteering.
She has published over 100 articles on CSR and volunteering, including over 45 papers in leading academic journals. Her book, Strategic CSR: Tools and theories for responsible management, is coming out in March 2018 with a Foreword by Prof David Cooperrider.
