COVID-19 Update: Australia officially crosses 90 per cent first dose vaccination target

Australia has officially surpassed 90 per cent first dose vaccination targets.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison says the federal government will not interfere with Victorian pandemic laws.
Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says she does not want to cancel schoolies but will have to take tough decisions if unlinked cases appear.
Tasmania urges it 16-24 age group to get vaccinated as it reviews restrictions on gatherings and events like sound and dance festivals for fully vaccinated people.
Western Australia’s vaccine commissioner Chris Dawson has made a personal appeal to elders of Indigenous communities with lowest vaccination rates in the country.
From 15 November, elective surgery will return in full capacity for patients in Greater Sydney.

COVID-19 STATS:

Victoria recorded 1,115 locally acquired cases and nine deaths.

NSW recorded 286 new community cases and two deaths.

ACT has recorded 15 new local cases, Queensland two.
