New South Wales
NSW has recorded 644 new locally acquired cases, with at least 41 in the community while infectious. Four people who had received one dose of the vaccine have died.
Additional rules for residents and businesses in the local government areas of concern will apply from 12.01am Monday 23 August, including curfews from 9pm to 5 am and a one-hour limit to the daily outdoor exercise.
Greater Sydney’s lockdown is extended until 30 September.

Victoria
Victoria has recorded 55 new locally acquired cases, out of which six are not linked to known outbreaks. Thirty cases were in the community while infectious.
Health authorities have issued an alert after one positive case was detected in Shepparton in regional Victoria.

Australian Capital Territory
The ACT has recorded 12 new locally acquired cases, out of which one is under investigation. The total number of active cases in Canberra is 94.
There is currently one COVID-19 patient admitted to hospital and over 250 exposure sites, including public transport routes, fast food outlets and a childcare outlet.
