New South Wales
NSW has recorded 1,288 new locally acquired cases and seven deaths. The state is on track to achieve a 70 per cent vaccination rate with one dose by the end of the day.
From Friday 3 September, the one-hour exercise limit will be scrapped for residents from 12 local government areas of concern. Other restrictions will remain in place.
Fragments of COVID-19 detected in wastewater in Bega, Cooma, and the Illawarra Shoalhaven in Bomaderry, which is a concern as there are no known cases in these areas.

Victoria
Victoria has recorded 176 new locally acquired cases, with 128 from the northern and western Melbourne areas.
From 11.59 pm playgrounds will open for children under 12 with only one parent or carer. Playgrounds will have QR codes for checking in, and adults should not remove their masks to eat or drink.

The ACT has recorded 12 new locally acquired cases, with at least eight in the community while infections.
From Friday 3 September, Transport Canberra will be providing free transport on bus and light rail for anyone travelling to any ACT Government COVID-19 vaccination clinic.
