New South Wales
NSW has recorded 478 new locally acquired cases and seven COVID-related deaths, out of which five were unvaccinated.
A test and isolate payment of $320 is available for workers aged 17 and over who have symptoms of COVID-19 and live in government areas of concern.
Temporary visa holders and others ineligible for other income support can now access a new $400 hardship payment through the Red Cross.
An additional 530,000 Pfizer doses will be available for 12 Sydney’s worst-affected local government areas where residents aged between 20 and 39 will be prioritised for vaccination this week.
Victoria
Victoria has recorded 22 new locally acquired cases, out of which five are not linked to known outbreaks. Eight cases were in the community while infectious.
Lockdown in Melbourne is extended until at least 11.59pm Thursday 2 September with additional measures put in place including a curfew from 9pm tonight.

- Greater Darwin and the Katherine region will go into a snap lockdown for 72 hours at midday local time after one local case was detected in the community.
- The ACT records 19 new locally acquired cases and extends its lockdown for another two weeks.
