Victoria
Victoria has recorded 2,297 new locally acquired COVID-19 infections and 11 deaths. 90 per cent of those hospitalised were not fully vaccinated.
Premier Daniel Andrews said that the case numbers will become less relevant once the state hits the 70 per cent double vaccination mark.
It may hit that target ahead of indicative date of 26 October, potentially ending Melbourne's long-running sixth lockdown.
The premier also said that a week-long trend is not enough to say if they have hit the peak or not.
