Mongol Rally crew, Herodotus Express, cross into Iran

New update from Marco Prayer Galletti and Andrea Zerbini, who are taking part in the 2017 Mongol Rally, the charity event that, from England to Siberia, covers almost two entire continents. As we have already explained in the past few weeks, it is not a race like all others: the car must be at least 20 years, cost no more than 500 euros and not exceed 1200 CC. The vehicle chosen by Marco, software developer, and Andrea, archaeologist, is a 1988 Fiat Panda 4x4, "restored" in a Florentine workshop before departure. Last week we left our "heroes" in Georgia, where they discovered that the country has a wine-making tradition comparable to that of Italy and France. They then went to Azerbaijan, where roadblocks can only be overcome by "tipping" the police, and they have now arrived in Iran, where they have been positively surprised by the hospitality of the population.
