SBS Examines visited Shepparton, a region that's home to more than 30 different languages, to meet some of the people who make it such a vibrant and diverse place.
India, Italy, Afghanistan, Philippines, Malaysia and Iraq are among the top birthplaces for those living in Shepparton, according to the 2021 census.
Since then, the community has continued to grow — welcoming new arrivals from Africa and around the world.
Jean-Marie Mupenda grew up in Congo and has lived in Australia for 19 years. When he first arrived in Shepparton, there were around 10 Congolese families in the area. Now, there's over 100.
His aim is to not only help bring the Congolese community together, but the whole of Shepparton.
This includes his local congregation, where Pastor Matthias Prenzler leads church services.
"We worship bilingually, so you'll hear parts of the service in English ... but parts will be in Swahili or in Kurundi, or in other languages," he told SBS Examines.
A few minutes outside of Shepparton, Dhami Singh grows zucchini across 200 acres.
Having moved to Sydney from India back in 2008, he ended up falling in love with Shepparton and has lived there since.
"Sometimes I feel like God is just trying to do a practical [joke], like we'll see how many of them can live together... we have about six mosques in town, two Sikh temples, so many churches... we have never had an issue," he told SBS Examines.
"It's just an honour to be living in this small community and getting love from everyone."
