“There’s something for everyone,” says Festival Director Wesley Enoch to SBS Filipino. But for a start, here are five of the fun activities/attractions you can attend to during the festival:

1. Silent Disco

Who says you can’t party hard at the library? Silent Disco will do that for you. All you have to do is put on the headphones, switch the music on and dance like there’s no tomorrow as you listen to the most recent tracks provided to you by a special guest DJ.

Silent Disco will happen at the State Library’s freshly renovated galleries on 11, 18 and 25 January. It promises a perfect setting for you to show off that choreography that’s uniquely yours.

2. Sydney Symphony Under the Stars

Craving to listen to your favourite classical music? Why not add drama to it by attending this one-night concert in Parramatta Park together with your family, friends or (ahem!) your romantic partner – and settle down on the ground draped with a blanket to gaze at the ‘starry, starry night skies’; how’s that sound?

Let the Sydney Symphony Orchestra do the job in making you feel relaxed as they play the music of Rossini, Strauss, Tchaikovsky and more this 19 January.

3. Heliosphere

Be captivated to an illusion of weightless levitation as an aerialist performs some acrobatic routines while suspended in a colourful lunar balloon (with the help of two technicians on the ground).

The seem-to-be marionette will add delight to spectators as it does some friendly gesture with the crowd before soaring back to the skyline.

This breathtaking heliosphere is part of the Circus Comes to Town, from 11 to 13 January at Prince Alfred Square, Parramatta.

4. Race in Ferrython

Add some spice to the celebration of Australia Day by joining the Ferrython or the race of the ferries (with no pressure); all you need to do is sit in as a passenger on the Blue ferry (wearing an all-blue outfit).

This one of the most prominent annual events in Sydney will start from Circular Quay heading to Shark Island and finishing off to Sydney Harbour Bridge.

While the event takes $155 off your pocket, the exhilarating ride and experience is worth every penny.

5. Moon Drops at Darling Harbour

Ever wonder how it feels like to be in the moon? The seven super-sized water-filled droplets installed at the Darling Harbour from 9 to 28 January will present a portion of that experience - allowing one to feel weightless inside Earth.

Enjoy these moon-inspired bouncy pads by hopping, rolling, playing and running around with family and friends.
