Juggling six jobs while studying full-time was Anna's biggest challenge as an international student.

We moved to Melbourne in 2013. I was a third year college student at UPLB. I didn't intend to go, it was just supposedly my mom, but then I thought there would be greater opportunities in Melbourne. I promised my mom, I will support myself. Coming to Melbourne was a big risk for us because we didn't know anyone here. We didn't have enough money then. I got an offer letter from Melbourne University so we decided to go. I felt lucky because the university is offering loan programs and I was able to get a scholarship. At least, that helped ease the burden of paying off school fees upfront.

I tried to look for jobs and I struggled to find one because I don't have local experience. I spent my first two years juggling six jobs-as a cleaner, tutor, ghost writer, kitchen hand, baby sitter, Green Army. During my third and fourth year, I had three jobs, then later on, I sticked to one job. It was a struggle when i did full-time work and full-time study. I wanted to ask my mom and dad for help but I know they have bigger problems.

But I'm glad I was able to pull through. I am really grateful for the opportunities I have had, being able to travel, etc. Most of all, I felt that my journey was a very fulfilling one. All my hard work paid off.
