Qantas is safest airline in the world (again)

As it begins its 99th year in the industry, Qantas is named 'World's Safest Airline' by AirlineRatings.com again.

The selection was based on the airline's record of no fatalities as well as hull losses.

Other airline companies that made the top list are United Airlines, Qatar Airways, American Airlines, Air New Zealand, British Airway,s EVA Air, Finnair, Cathay Pacific Airways, All Nippon Airways, Austrian Airlines, Alaska Airlines, KLM, Emirates, Singapore Airlines, Swiss, Scandinavian Airline System, and the Virgin airline group (both Atlantic and Australia).

When it comes to budget airlines, the site chose Flybe, Frontier, HK Express, Jetblue, Jetstar, Thomas Cook, Volaris, Vueling, Westjet and Wizz as the safest. 

On the flipside, AirlineRatings.com picked Trigana Air Service, Bluewing Airlines, Ariana Afghan Airlines and Kam Air as the worst when it comes to safety.

There was a significant rise in airline fatalities due to crashes in 2018 compared to 2017; however, the past year is considered as the ninth safest year on record so far.
