Rates of racism are higher among Indigenous, Chinese, African, Jewish, and Middle Eastern students and staff. Only six percent of those who experienced racism filed a complaint.

The first national report on racism in Australian universities said it is widespread and systemic.
About 76,000 students and staff from 42 universities took part in the study.
Federal Education Minister Jason Clare said the government is preparing its formal response to the report.
