As the war in the Middle East drags on, the cost of living in Australia is rising, hitting communities nationwide, with migrant and refugee groups warning support is falling short amid growing economic and mental health pressures.

On April 1, Albanese addressed the public, warning that the economic impact of the Middle East conflict would persist for months amid heightened uncertainty.
Representatives of multicultural communities have raised concerns that migrants and refugees face needs beyond economic support, and that gaps in communication could contribute to misinformation.
Tahera Nassrat, CEO of the Afghan Peace Foundation and a tax agent, said communities affected by the Middle East conflict are experiencing pressures beyond the cost of living, and that non-citizen taxpayers appear to be overlooked.
