Are you ready to say goodbye to Australia's iconic orange Incoming Passenger Card? Beginning next year, travellers arriving in Australia may no longer need to fill out the traditional orange paper, as the Australian Government gradually replaces it with a digital version called the Australia Traveller Declaration at airports nationwide.
Key Points
- The federal government says its move to replace handwritten passenger arrival cards with a digital option at all Australian airports will improve the country's biosecurity.
- The nationwide rollout comes after a trial involving more than 450,000 passengers on Qantas international flights arriving in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne since October 2024
- Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke says the change is aimed at streamlining processes for arriving passengers ahead of an expected influx of tourists for the 2032 Brisbane Olympic Games.
- Paper forms will still be available for passengers who cannot access the digital cards
