Deakin University's Earvin Cabalquinto PhD tells us how Filipinos living in Australia utilise the smartphone to care for their elderly parents back in the Philippines.

  • Video chatting became a useful way to develop and maintain bonds within the family when they are physically separated
  • Many have taken to using social media apps in order to keep in contact with each other, show them they care, and make mameories, no matter the distance.
