Hyrox has become more than just a fitness sport for Brisbane couple Robespierre Dornagon and Guinivere Gonzales—it has been a journey of growth, resilience, and partnership. Training and competing side by side has strengthened not only their bodies but also their relationship, while inspiring them to embrace a healthier, more active lifestyle together.
Key Points
- Throughout their Hyrox training and competitions, Robespierre and Guinivere have relied on each other every step of the way.
- From months of training to competing in one of the world's biggest indoor fitness races, the couple discovered that every kilometre and workout station tested not only their physical strength, but also their confidence, resilience, discipline, and mental toughness.
- Since its launch in Germany in 2017, Hyrox has grown into one of the world's fastest-growing fitness sports, attracting more than 2.5 million participants across events worldwide, including Australia.
Their journey has built more than physical endurance—it has boosted their self-confidence, strengthened their discipline, and had a positive impact on their mental well-being.

Although still relatively new to the sporting scene, Hyrox has experienced rapid growth in Australia. From its inaugural Australian event in Sydney in 2023, which drew 1,348 competitors, participation has surged dramatically. By July 2026, nearly 30,000 athletes had taken part in the five-day competition at the Sydney Showground, highlighting the sport's remarkable rise in popularity.
