In the midst of an alarming rise in cyber attacks, not only in the Philippines but around the globe; experts in the Philippines have focused on its links to actual events and wars.

Meanwhile, the United States has reiterated its ironclad commitment to its Mutual Defense Treaty with the Philippines.

The statement was made during talks between US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin III and Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. concerning the latest incident between China and the Philippines in Ayungin Shoal last June 17.
