'Historically undervalued' aged care workers get pay rise at last

Aged care workers across the country celebrated a historic pay rise. The Fair Work decision sees wages for some carers increase by 28 per cent - a move seen as overdue.

• The Commission has approved an overhaul of the aged care awards system for 200,000 workers from July.
• For nurses - their pay is now between 17 and 24 percent. For Primary Care workers the figure is between 18 and 28 per cent.
