Many were more naturally gifted than me in class, but at university, I excelled through hard work. While others read quickly, I put in twice the effort of my peers. I wake up at 3 AM because focus is at its best in the morning, and I always start the day with prayer.Dr Angelica Logarta-Scott, Specialist GP- Sydney, Australia
She was raised by a single parent alongside two siblings, overcame poverty, earned a scholarship, and succeeded in medical school through hard work and dedication. Although her parents separated when she was young, she remains grateful to her father and relatives for their support and guidance.
It never got to a point where I felt overwhelmed. I always try to stay optimistic and focus on the positive. My sisters, one an accountant and the other a dentist, showed me that if you have a goal, opportunities will follow. You just need to stay focused on how to achieve it.Dr Angelica Logarta-Scott, Specialist GP- Sydney, Australia
After many years in the UK, she moved to Australia seeking better opportunities and to be closer to family. Today, she serves the multicultural community while inspiring young Filipino-Australians.
I chose Australia for better pay, work-life balance, outdoor activities, and weather. It’s also closer to the Philippines, which allows me to be near my family and plan for the future, including retirement.Dr Angelica Logarta-Scott, Specialist GP-Sydney, Australia
