According to separate 2025 surveys, Australian families and individuals are projected to spend an average of between $491 and $667 on Christmas gifts, with some surveys showing a total average Christmas budget (including food, travel, etc.) of around $1,479.
Gen X (35-54 year olds) are anticipated to be the highest spenders on gifts, averaging around $686.
Younger shoppers (18-34) expect to spend the least, averaging $639.
