ACT Budget focuses on health, housing, and cost of living support

Health, affordable housing, and cost-of-living support are the key features of the ACT Budget announced by Chief Minister Andrew Barr on June 25.


Key Points
  • Included in the 2024-25 FY is the extension of the Home Buyer Concession Scheme where first home buyers will receive stamp duty concessions up to $34,000.
  • Around $920 million will be allocated for the next four years for the expansion of paediatric care, suport for digital health services and doubling of emergency and elective surgeries in the ACT.
  • $285 million will be allocated for housing initiatives as promised by the Barr Government for housing assistance and homelessness services and private renters under the Affordable Housing Project Fund building affordable rental homes in the ACT.
