Despite Aussies being savvy when it comes to nutrition, obesity rates still continue to rise. New research reveals that two-thirds (64%) of Aussies are indulging in a second helping of dinner and 67% are ‘upsizing’ when buying food, simply because it only costs a little extra.
Obesity has increased 20 percent since 1995, and according to researchers from The George Institute for Global Health, our modern, bigger than ever food portions are contributing to Australia’s weight crisis.
Accredited Practising Dietician, Megan Alsford is encouraging Australians to keep a close eye on portion sizes and learn how to include all food types in the right portion sizes.
