Tributes and Condolences: Vigils held across Australia for the victims of the Bondi Beach attack

On Usap Tayo, we discussed the ongoing grief of families of the victims of Bondi Beach shooting and the outpouring of sympathy across Australia. Vigils were held in various states to honour and remember those who lost their lives in the tragic terror attack.

• Fifteen people were indiscriminately shot and killed by two perpetrators in what authorities have described as an act of terrorism at Bondi Beach on Sunday, December 14.
• Following the incident, crowds gathered at the Bondi Pavilion, laying flowers and leaving messages of condolences for the victims’ families.
• As Hanukkah was also being observed, a candle-lighting ceremony was held featuring a 150 cm-tall menorah at Bondi Beach. The Sydney Opera House was illuminated in the light of a Hanukkah menorah, while the Pillars of Light Festival proceeded in Melbourne.
