The girl on the ice floe (Grasset), the first book of Adelaide Bon tells after the rape of a nine-year-old girl, the descent into hell she lived until she was 35, her reconstruction, the therapies, trauma caused by aggression. In reality it is the story of the author who invites us into a very personal world of her life. A shocking reconstruction, a book with the right words that wants to raise awareness about the damage caused by rape on a child and the precariousness of the French system that sometimes does not have the effective tools to help victims. Adelaide Bon was at the Sydney Writers Festival on Thursday, May 2nd and Friday, May 3rd. A book acclaimed by critics in France, already translated into seven languages.
