A demonstrator holds a placard that says "Tax Zucman" during an inter union demonstration as part of a day of strikes and national protests organized by French unions for social and fiscal justice. The general strike on 2nd October saw lower turnout than the previous one on 18th September. According to the Ministry of the Interior, there were 195,000 participants with the CGT putting the figure at 600,000. The demonstration marched from Place Italie to Place Vauban without any incidents with the police. The French people, together with the inter-union groups continue to pressure Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu against the austerity state budgets.
