Dr Jens Mohr passed away in mid-January, aged 79.
Below is an obituary written by AGWS Honorary Life President Dr Walter W.J. Uhlenbruch AO (pictured), followed by a short message from the team at SBS German.

"We have the sad duty to inform our members that our President, Dr Jens Mohr, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on 16th January 2018 whilst visiting Germany with his wife Linde. He has been a member of our Society for many years, joined our Committee in 2014 and held the office of Honorary Treasurer until last October, when he was elected President.
In addition, he represented our Society in the board of the Tabulam and Templer Homes for the Aged (TTHA) in Bayswater, Victoria, where he held the office of Vice President.
Dr Jens Mohr spent most of his working career with the huge German pharmacological and chemical company Hoechst, in Germany, Nigeria, and then as CEO in Australia until the company ceased operations here. Following his retirement, he started his own company, JM Management Services, and still sits on various boards.
He is a former President of the Australian-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce and a true doyen of German industry in Australia.
We shall always remember him with deep gratitude for his devoted service and his friendly demeanour. We acknowledge gratefully his management expertise and recognise that we have now lost a devoted member and worthy President.
He actively supported his wife during her twelve years as president and we owe him a great deal of gratitude for his selfless and long-lasting service in support of the needy in our society. We shall always remember him dearly.
We express our sincere condolences to his wife Linde and all members of the Mohr family, here and abroad."
