Back in 2007, Lisa Lang made a name for herself by demystifying the internet for our German radio audience in Australia. The ten-part series ("Internet für Anfänger") explained the ins and outs of twitter, facebook, skype, google, spotify and other emerging digital tools.
The series was broadcast every Wednesday and was rather popular with our listeners and website visitors.
11 years onwards, and with the talented Bavarian having long returned to Germany, after strudying and working in Melbourne for several years, Ms Lang is about to make history as one of only three nominees for the inaugural "European CEO Of The Year Award".

The prestigeous award is handed out by Euronews in Lyon and the European Business Summit (EBS) at a gala ceremony on 23 May at the Egmont Palace in Brussels. The awards ceremony, with 2000 guests, will be broadcast live from the Belgian capital.
The nomination follows a call to vote by Euronews and the EBS where the general public, from 170 countries and regions, voted online to choose the three nominees.

The other nominees are
- Ana Botin, Head of Banco Santander in Spain since 2014. Ms Botin runs the biggest bank in Europe in terms of market capitalisation and employees (200,000).
- Edyta Kocyk. The Polish entrepreneur founded health telematics enterprise SiDLY in 2014. The enterprise is known for a revolutionary telemedicine wristband.
That's some stiff competition, to say the least... But as they say in Australia: You'll never, never know if you'll never, never try... So good luck, Lisa - SBS German is proud of your achievements!
