"It feels like it was just yesterday that we opened our school doors with 14 students. Ten years on we proudly have 115 students in a primary school from Foundation Year to Year 6", says Monika Cruz, the DSM's Administration Officer.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Victoria's only full-time German school, the school community is invited to a special afternoon on Sunday, 20 May, at the school grounds at 96 Barkly Street, Fitzroy North, just outside the Melbourne CBD.
The event is by invitation only and there will be refreshments and entertainment. Parents, pupils and invited guests will also watch the ZEHN doco which is having its premiere that afternoon. To tickle your interest, you can watch a little preview here:
Three days later, on Wednesday, 23 May, there's an Open Day at DSM - this time for everyone - from 9:30am to 11:30am. Pupils and their families will have the opportunity to experience Deutsche Schule Melbourne first hand.
There will be a classroom observation; and teachers, staff and students will be available to answer questions.
The bilingual school kindly asks parents and carers to register their interest beforehand, online or by phone.
