Move over, Melbourne! Vienna calling!

Move over, Melbourne... For the first time in seven years, the world's most liveable city - according to the London-based publication The Economist - is... Vienna! Third place goes to Osaka, followed by Calgary and Sydney.

The annual study, known as The Economist Intelligence Unit's Global Liveability Report, was published on August 14. It ranks Frankfurt as Germany's most liveable city, in 12th place.

In total, five German cities are ranked in the top 30: The above mentioned Frankfurt, followed by Hamburg (18, or minus eight compared to 2017!), Berlin, Munich and Dusseldorf.

In Australia, Perth slipped seven places to the world’s 14th most livable city. Adelaide lost five places too, from 5th to 10th.
