Retailers to remove single-use plastic bags

In a major win for the environment, Australia´s major retailers have decided to phase out plastic bags around the country. The Woolworths group will stop handing out free single-use plastic bags in a year. And Coles supermarkets in Qld, NSW, Victoria and WA will join its stores in Tasmania, SA, ACT and NT in banning single-use bags in the next 12 months.
