The Great Barrier Reef is the largest living structure on earth. But now Australian researchers found that millions of years ago, a similar reef once lined the northwest of Australia. My colleague Barbara Barkhausen, with whom I have often talked about the Great Barrier Reef, has now also made inquiries for us about this prehistoric mirror image.
