Amelie Bärmann lived in Australia for 34 years, before returning to Germany. What were her motives and does she ever regret the far-reaching decision to return to her roots? We met up with the passionate pensioner.

Amelie came to Australia with her husband in 1981. The couple settled in Perth and Amelie loved Australia from day one. However, due to circumstances beyond her control, Amelie and her husband now live in Frankfurt.

Amelie loves to collect precious and other stones, including opals from Australia which she sells in Germany.
