Artificial intelligence - self-learning machines - Does that give you hope or anxiety? Will there be fewer jobs or many new professions? Can machines teach us languages?
Where are the limits of what a machine with AI can do? Can it teach us cultural backgrounds? Politeness? How could it ever deal with the aspect of emotionality? Computers live on, even if we die.

Due to Covid, many of the events on these topics in the programme will be digital, but on Friday 23 October, in addition to participating on the computer at home, for the first time there will also be the opportunity to participate in person at the Goethe Institute. On Friday we will hear from Prof. Toby Walsh "the Australian rock star of the AI", an international luminary in the field, and Dr. Belinda Dunstan, an artist who is now working in a robolab, and where she explores the interface between man and machine. They will discuss how AI changes our communication, our experience of the world and our creative activities. But also important questions of ethics, of responsibility, for example how to make AI trustworthy - should be part of the discussion, and I also talked about this in this interview with Sonja Griegoschewski.
