Britain is not the European Union’s only problem – or even its biggest – there are also violent protests in France and Italy represents a serious threat to Europe’s financial stability.


Europe’s many home-made problems are aggravated by the Trump administration’s erratic political behavior, as well as  Russia’s growing military posture. No wonder, the European project is in crisis and Germany is looking for like-minded partners to bring back some stability. Australia could fit that description, says Dr Klaus Schueler, Federal Director of Germany's governing Christian Democrats (CDU).
