Fire ants were probably brought to Australia on a freighter. The authorities in Queensland have been fighting these dangerous insects for almost 20 years. Now the experts hope to have won the battle. Barbara Barkhausen talks to Trudi Latour on the phone about the background. Some of you will certainly remember.
