Berlin's plans for dual citizenship

For a long time, dual citizenship in Germany was only possible in exceptional cases. That could change now based on plans of the current government. Germans in Australia could also benefit from anew regulation — as soon as it is adopted by the Bundestag. Until now, a lengthy retention process has to be carried out if you want to remain German when you accept Australian citizenship.
