After the Second World War, European refugees were accommodated in the former Bonegilla detention center in Victoria. The musician and artist Simon Reich, himself the son of a German emigrant, has made an award-winning documentary about the camp and its inhabitants. We talk to the filmmaker and his father Manfred. The now 89-year-old was a first-hand witness of the war in Berlin and emigrated to Australia in 1958.
