"The only Swiss as far as the eye can see"

Werner Muehlethaler was born in 1939 in the canton of Berne and came to Australia in 1961 as a mechanic. He has two children and five grandchildren.

Werner Muehlethaler (83) is the only Swiss far and wide in his Australian administrative area, Cobar Shire, 750 kilometres west of Sydney. His shire (or LGA) is as big as Switzerland - and has 4,000 inhabitants.
