In recent years, there has been a debate about diversifying German bilateral relations in the Indo-Pacific region. Germany wants to become more independent of China and is looking for so-called “value partners” in the region. Dr. Felix Heiduk is the head of the Asia Research Group at the Science and Policy Foundation. His study “Germany's value partnerships in the Indo-Pacific” analyses the concept of these partnerships and recognizes contradictions.
