On the so-called “Day X,” there were serious riots between demonstrators and the police in Leipzig last weekend. The tensions between left-wing and right-wing extremists are not new in the federal state. One person who knows this all too well is the leader of the Saxon SPD parliamentary group, Dirk Panter. SBS reporter Julia Grewe spoke to him about the past weekend, the general situation in the state parliament and the mood in Leipzig.
