Great Barrier Reef: Gloomy prospects

The Great Barrier Reef has been struggling to survive for years: The current report by the International Union for Conservation of Nature now makes it clear how serious the situation is. The IUCN has downgraded the prospects of the largest reef on earth to "critical" for the first time. The corals are - like many other world heritage sites - threatened by climate change.
