The Gulgong Holtermann Museum celebrates the legacy of the young Hamburg migrant Bernhardt Holtermann whose greatest claim to fame is finding the largest gold specimen ever discovered in Australia.

Holtermann's other passion was photography. The museum displays some of the amazing photographs for which he and two other men were responsible and which capture in great detail the people and their lifestyles during the gold rush days in Gulgong.
