The Swiss artist Brigit Heller has always been concerned with nature and our relationship with nature. This is currently manifested in her sometimes huge metal woven sculptures, which can be seen in private and public collections, as well as in public spaces and parks throughout Australia. We visited Brigit Heller in her studio, where she forges, hammers, welds and grinds her large objects. She also talks about how she is constantly careful to take ethnic factors into account, for example how far she can and is allowed to involve herself in an existing, ancient culture. We will also learn a lot about her career, from her carefree time as a young art student to the established, highly acclaimed artist she is today.
