German-speaking authors in Brisbane: Irena Kobald's award-winning refugee story travels the world

Born in Austria, Irena Kobald has been living in Australia for about 37 years. After stops in the former USSR and a small village in the Australian Outback, she now lives about 130km west of Brisbane in Toowomba.

Her first children's book "My Two Blankets" has been awarded several times worldwide and is currently available in 21 languages - including Braille.

With SBS correspondent Katharina Loesche, Irena Kobald talks about the emotions that "My Two Blankets" evokes in her and in her readers, as well as about her new - as she affectionately calls her books - "paper babies”.
