In conversation: Babylon Berlin in German courses 1/2

Berlin has served as a background to quite a few television series lately. The German capital is also a popular destination for tourists and backpackers. But what significance did Berlin play in history? What did the 20s and 30s mean? That's what the Netflix series Babylon Berlin is all about. And there is also a graphic novel. Through these media, language learners can learn not only the German language, but also the cultural background of our society. And that's what my conversation is about with Benjamin Nickl, lecturer for international comparative literature and Tristan Lay, lecturer for German studies. Both work at the University of Sydney, and both believe that the modern approach to literature and culture needs to be incorporated into the course so that international students can take a better approach and have more fun learning German.
