Swimmingpool am Golan covers three generations of German-Jewish life in Germany, the GDR and Israel. Since the Fall of the Wall, Esther has been going back to visit her family in Israel to explore the meaning of Jewishness and socialist ideals, and how to reconcile all of this with her own life.
