Christian Schwochow is one of the most distinguished and well-known directors from Germany. In addition to several movies, he has shot the series “The Tower”, “Bad Banks” and several episodes of the British hit series “The Crown.” Schwochow is currently in Victoria to film an Australian thriller series about which we only know the title at this point: “The Dispatcher.”

We met Schwochow on the sidelines of a screening of his film “The German Lesson”, organized by the Goethe Institute Australia. We talk to him about the significance of the film “The German Lesson” in times of democratic challenges and about what is special about filming in Australia.
